About two weeks ago we had some guests over to our house. After they had visited with our newborn son, and we had socialized and eaten dinner, we settled in to watch Patton Oswalts new comedy special. We were all really looking foward to watching it, being big fans. Lo and behold, Murphy’s Law then decides to come into play, and we have no picture on the TV. I fiddled around with it for a good half an hour, but no dice. I suppose it was to be expected. The television was an ancient dinosaur of a Magnavox, that had been passed around through various members of my wife’s family for a good 15 years. We had already decided that we needed a new tv, but we thought that we could milk that one until spring. I guess not. The very next morning we headed over to Best Buy to remedy the situation.
This is the television we ended up purchasing that morning three weeks ago. Dynex is a Best Buy brand, and I must say that I am very happy with it. This has a built in HDTV tuner, supports 720p and has a very nice picture. The ultraslim design takes up almost no space, and you could easily mount it on a wall if you would like. This has three HDMI inputs, two composite, an S video, two component video, as well as a PC video input. This last feature is much appreciated by me as I have been using the television as a second computer monitor. Movies ported from my hard drive and viewed on the tv look great!
