Okay so first of all, I have to admit that Popeye’s chicken is DELICIOUS! Straight up, may not be for you “lettuce chewing - carrot chomping folks”, but if you are in the mood for some juicy, tasty chicken then hit em’ up!! That said, I have to admit that I too would be disappointed if I went to my local Popeyes Chicken only to find out they ran out!! But NOT upset enough to waste my precious gas and go driving from city to city looking for a Popeyes that still had free chicken. I’m just saying…
Let me backtrack, yesterday they offered FREE CHICKEN to compete with El Pollos Free Chicken offer that I posted about yesterday. Well things started to get crazy when THEY RAN OUT OF CHICKEN!! It got so bad that they even featured the story on the news..

Okay now is it just me or was this news coverage totally racially slanted?! You mean to tell me not ONE single Asian, Caucasian or ANY other ethnicity was upset that Popeye’s ran out of chicken?! I am Filipino and I was disappointed. I live in Pasadena and was present at the Popeye’s on Lake and I can tell you that there were other people present besides African Americans that were sad they closed early.

This news footage plays like an SNL skit, totally plays into the stereotype that “African Americans LOVE their Chicken”. I mean not to stir the racial pot but how would you light folks feel if I ran a newscast about how a bunch of Caucasians lost their cool when they ran out of organic vegetables at Whole Foods? Not so funny now is it? (Actually, that image is pretty funny.. but you know what I mean.. )

Well hopefully this Popeyes Free Chicken Offer won’t cause a ruckus.
