News that’s been expected for a few months, Sony has confirmed they are slashing their 60 GB PS3 $100 from $599 to $499. Also in that release is the announcement that they are offering an 80 GB model for $599 in August. Which no doubt is to compete with the Xbox 360’s 120 GB release and help with Sony’s own downloadable HD movies. Check out Smarter.com for the latest PS3 retailers.
