Deep Discounts on Premium Audiophile Headphones at Bose

By Isreal Lawrence on Aug 31st, 2009
bose1.jpgBose is on the leading edge of noise-canceling headphones and their brand stands for quality and precision. The main feature of the Bose QuietComfort 3 is the noise cancellation feature, which effectively cancels out ambient noise by “listening” to the room noise and producing a signal into your ear that is the exact opposite, which cancels out the ambient noise all together. The noise cancellation of the QuietComfort 3 is absolutely amazing. You can put these headphones on and it will almost totally eliminate any external ambient noise. It won’t eliminate the sound 100 percent, but it takes the “sound” out of the noise, making it sound like almost nothing. If you want, you can use the headphone’s noise cancellation feature without listening to music at all, which is perfect for people wanting quiet in a noisy environment, such as on an airplane. Audio quality is crisp and exactly what you would expect from a premium audiophile brand with Bose pedigree. The Bose QuietComfort 3’s audio quality combined with the noise cancellation is a sure winner and a must-have for anyone that travels frequently or works in loud environments.

Normally to be found for $349.95, use these Bose coupons to receive the QuietComfort 3 for only $269.95!

50% Off Clearance Items at Charlotte Russe

By Ritika on Aug 28th, 2009

Now is the best time to shop at Charlotte Russe! All of their merchandise that’s on clearance is half the original price! Totally worth it. Charlotte Russe has a tendency to place items on clearance fast, so you don’t have to worry about being out of style if you buy off the clearance rack.

I absolutely love Charlotte Russe because they carry the hottest designs for LESS than a fraction of the price! For instance, look at these hot pink Crocodile Studded Gladiator Sandals.

gladiator sandals charlette rousse coupon

We all know that gladiator sandals are totally in right now–but why pay $50+ dollars for a designer brand when you can get the identical pair (with a little more flare) at Charlotte Russe?  With the current ongoing offer of 50% off clearance items, these babies cost a grand total of $10, including tax! The original price was about $15 (that’s already really reasonable) and the clearance price brought the price down to $8.49. With clearance items half off, you won’t pay more than $5. How  can you pass up such an offer? If you buy it online, you can get free shipping as well! With school just right around the corner, there’s no reason to jump on this opportunity.

Another great example of the way that Charlotte Russe always carries the latest designs for less is this Tropical Floral Maxi Dress. These ankle-length dresses are all the rage right now, especially in soCal and South Beach. You can get your very own summer dress at Charlotte Russe right now at a  clearance price of only $18.49. The original price was $36.99, which is the average. But this is the best deal for a floral, floor-length dress. It’s perfect to stroll down the pier on a hot summer day near the beach.

Kohl’s Clearance Event + Big Savings On Bedding Sets

By Isreal Lawrence on Aug 28th, 2009

Recently a friend of ours was speaking of (make that bragging about) how she visited Kohl’s during their clearance sale and simply cleaned up. She apparently was able to get, in her words, “a ton of designer stuff for her new apartment” for a fraction of the cost. Wow I replied, I hadn’t heard that Kohl’s was having such a large sale. I was actually a little miffed at myself. Staying abreast of these things is supposed to be my job after all.

So I decided to investigate her claims. After all, what sort of bargain hunter would I be if I didn’t? Ah yes indeed, there is a huge clearance event occurring right now. In fact it is their largest clearance sale of the year, with discounts from 60%-70% off. On top of that, there are certain items in their inventory that are marked as final clearance offering price cuts of up to 80%!

While virtually scanning the sales racks, I noticed that there are some really heavy discounts on bedding. I often find that people I know really ignore their bedding situation. The rest of the house may be decorated with all sorts of cool stuff, but the bedding is somewhat of a disgrace. How does one solve this problem and get their bedroom in order? Start by selecting your bed cover. The comforter, bedspread, quilt, or duvet cover you choose for your bed will likely become the focal point of your bedroom décor. Once you have this foundation, you will most likely find that everything else will come together in a logical progression. Buying a coordinated set is often a good way to go. Here are a few of the heavily discounted sets from Kohl’s that I took a fancy to:

New Apple Products For 2009 + Free Apple Computer Coupons

By Isreal Lawrence on Aug 27th, 2009

This has already been a big summer for Apple. We have seen a refresh of the iPhone with the 3GS and apparently on Friday we will see a new addition to the OSX family with Snow Leopard. Rumors abound as to what Jobs and company have in the works to unveil at their annual grand gala in September. These rumors include new versions of the iPod Touch and iPod Nano, perhaps larger storage capacity with a camera. Perhaps a new generation of the venerable iTunes, an advancement to iTunes9. The rumor mill has also been burning with talk about a touch screen tablet of some sort, a device to compete in the netbook market.

All this talk is just that of course…talk. While some rumors may, such as the iPod reboot, have more credence than others, we will see soon enough what Apple has in store for the upcoming year. What about this years new products that have already been released and are available right now?

The iPhone 3GS has been around for a few months now, and has been written about by others large and small almost to death. OSX Snow Leopard will be released as I mentioned, on Friday. I wrote a little bit about this the other day for our UK site. You can read about it here. There are few other products that have gotten makeovers this summer that haven’t received as much press hoopla though. These being, this years versions of the MacBook, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.

Sears All Appliance Sale - Get 10% Off + Free Shipping

By Isreal Lawrence on Aug 26th, 2009

At our house we have been needing a new washer for a number of months now. The old one refuses to stop leaking. Now I tried to find out what the problem was and fix it, sadly I must admit that this problem is beyond me!
With all of the other things we needed to buy over spring and early summer in anticipation of the new baby the washer situation got edged to the sideline. We have been making due with a combination of of the local laundrymat and the crippled washer (the back has been removed and there is a towel and small pan beneath the engine housing to catch the water, hardly ideal). However now that the baby has arrived (and we subsequently have laundry to do every day) the situation has become critical.

Looking through the available Sears coupons this morning I noticed one that was very interesting. All Appliance on sale + EXTRA 10% off sale prices & FREE Delivery or 12 months NINP at Sears! That was certainly enough to get my attention and inspire a little virtual window shopping.

washer.jpgKenmore Elite Chai 4.4 cu. ft. Front-Load Washer Energy Star

This washer pays for itself - far exceeds ENERGY STAR qualifications to help you save on utility bills.

Savvy Ways to Save When Heading Off to College - Back to School Tips

By Evette on Aug 24th, 2009

Chegg.com Coupons, Deals and Bargains at CouponMountain.com

Across the country, recent high school graduates are transitioning to freshman at colleges and universities. There will be many decisions facing the nation’s next crop of college students, from where to live to what courses to take to whether to join an academic club or fraternity/sorority.

Perhaps the most vital decisions current and future college kids must make are financial ones. For most students, college is the first time they’ll be managing their own money. While money management is most often a trial and error process for college kids, there are tricks to money management that today’s teenagers and young adults can use to their advantage.

Don’t be late. Being late for class isn’t a good way for students to ingratiate themselves with their professors. But being late with bills can be an even worse idea. In addition to the negative impact paying bills late can have on a young person’s credit rating, late fees can pile up quickly. The average late fee for credit cards is $28, which is in addition to the balance remaining on the card itself. That’s $28 the average college kid can save simply by paying on time. Another way to avoid late fees is to save before splurging. That means, save up the cash to pay for your purchase and skip the credit card entirely.

• Rent, don’t buy. While renting and not buying is a philosophy typically associated with student housing, it’s now applicable to textbooks as well. At the onset of each school year, students across the country face steep bills for textbooks, many of which they’ll use for a semester or quarter and never open again. And textbooks aren’t a student’s only expense. In fact, according to the National Retail Federation’s (NRF) 2009 back-to-college survey, students and their parents can expect to spend an average of $618 on back-to-college supplies this year, a 3 percent increase over 2008.

Fortunately, today’s students have the option to rent their textbooks. With more than 2.4 million titles, Chegg.com is the world’s largest online textbook rental service, boasting discounts between 65 and 85 percent off the list price. In the last two years alone, Chegg.com has saved students and their parents more than $41 million at 6,000 colleges and universities across the country. Rentals are available by the semester (125 days), quarter (85 days) and summer (60 days), and students can even ask for rental extensions or purchase the books at any time.

“I got books from the campus bookstore and spent almost $450,” says Ernest, a student at North Carolina State University. “When I came home and checked out Chegg.com I realized I could save $200, so I took my books back to the bookstore.”

To learn more about saving on textbooks or to order your own books today, visit www.Chegg.com.

• Use your student status to your advantage. Local businesses surrounding college campuses typically offer student discounts when students present their university I.D. Restaurants, movie theaters, music stores, etc., are among the many businesses that offer student discounts up to 20 percent. If going out to eat or having a date night at the movies, remember to bring along your student I.D. and reap the rewards.

• Watch ATM cash drain. Some ATMs charge in upwards of $3.50 for cash withdrawals, particularly ones that are “convenient” or close to campus. You can quickly deplete your savings with a few bucks withdrawn here and there. Instead, consider opening up an account at a local bank that offers good perks (not just fluff incentives luring college students) and no-fee ATM withdrawals. Your school also may be affiliated with a credit union that offers special plans to students, including good interest rates and discounts on other financial items such as auto insurance.

Start saving for the big trips. Are you planning your first big vacation before you’ve even passed your first exam? If so, start thinking about saving for those trips now, because Spring Break will be here before you know it. As these trips can get very expensive, putting extra money away each month will go a long way to making that dream trip a reality.

By Isreal Lawrence on Aug 24th, 2009

Before I became a parent I often heard this statement from several of my friends: “My kids grow so fast. It costs a fortune to keep buying them clothing!”. There are several shirts and onesies that my son could wear last week that he has already outgrown! This is simply amazing to me!

Pottery Barn Discount Wedding Gifts + Pottery Barn Coupon Codes

By Isreal Lawrence on Aug 21st, 2009

If there are two themes that I have noticed about this past Spring and Summer is:

1. People are having BABIES

2. People are getting MARRIED!

Not always in that order but you get my drift.. I am being a little dramatic while making this statement, but it seems like every other week I am shopping for a new wedding gift. Let me tell you, sometimes that can be very difficult! No, I’m not speaking of the cost and my pocketbook, though it is true, one must keep control of costs when buying so many gifts. No, I’m just speaking of buying gifts for people (usually family) that I might not know so well. What do you buy for cousin Erin (who you haven’t seen since 7th grade) and her new husband (who you only met briefly last Thanksgiving)?

There are a couple of rules of thumb when purchasing wedding gifts. Methods to insure that your gift is appreciated and not secretly despised. Here we go:

1. Money - Yes you can just give them money. Didn’t you see The Godfather? Just slip the bride an envelop of cold hard cash. It isn’t as tacky as you might think. It’s old school, and you probably will feel like a true player as you do it.

2. Use the registry - We all know at least one person who went a little crazy and registered for something outrageous like $100 toothbrush holder. However, if the registry lists gifts within your price range, choose something from the list. The couple will be thrilled to get exactly what they asked for.

3. When using the registry, try to complete a set - If you see that someone has already bought a place setting off the registry, buy a second one. If the casual dishes are filling up but no one has bought a formal setting, stick with the pack. One setting of formal dishes isn’t going to get a lot of use.

4. Always include a gift receipt - In spite of the best of intentions, duplicates happen when it comes to wedding gifts. (My sister received three fondue sets.) Resist the urge to think, “if I don’t include a gift receipt they’ll have to keep mine.” Remember that it’s a gift and it’s supposed to be about the bride and groom. A gift receipt is a simple way to ensure that your gift won’t go to waste.

5. Consider a gift card - This achieves much the same as the cash envelope option. If you’re traveling to the wedding, are unsure what to get, have budget concerns or simply want to be practical, buy a gift card for the store the couple is registered with. You can’t go wrong with that. Gift cards don’t break, are always the right color and they guarantee the perfect gift every time. Best of all, they’re really easy to wrap.

Now if you are really insistent on purchasing off the registry, I really advise at the very least shopping in a “safe zone”. Meaning buying from a store where all of the stuff is pretty classy, and almost everyone likes it. A good option is Pottery Barn. We have some very nice Pottery Barn coupons available, and there is a whole section on their website dedicated to wedding gift special. Here are a few of the highlights that I enjoyed:
