From all that I’ve read lately concerning tech trends, the netbook market, those low cost, ultra portable notebooks are the only computing product segment that are truly gaining speed. With the telephone companies getting into the game, offering huge discounts on price when you sign to a 2 year data contract (just like with a mobile phone), I’m sure this trend will only grow.
Inexpensive and portable netbooks appeal to a wide audience, from businesspeople who travel frequently, to kids and home users looking for a small laptop to carry from room to room, to book-laden students who spend long hours on campus. It’s easy enough to tell a netbook from other laptops, but the differences between one netbook and the next are getting fewer and fewer. They generally have 8-to-10-inch widescreens and lack built-in optical drives. None have full-size keyboards—they usually range from 89 percent to 93 percent of full size—so expect a more cramped typing experience than with a mainstream laptop. You will find an abundance of USB ports, a webcam, a card reader, and built-in Wi-Fi. Some even have bonus features like ExpressCard slots, Bluetooth, and options for cellular modems. Most every netbook has adopted the Intel Atom platform, made up of the Atom processor, integrated graphics, and 512MB to 1GB of RAM.
I noticed a very good special the Dell is offering this morning concerning netbooks. Dell Coupon Codes that offer 15% off on Dell Mini 10 and Mini 10v netbooks priced over $459. Just enter code ?$HD8SFZQW2GBQ at checkout and you’re golden.
The Mini 10 and Mini 10v come in a few different flavors, but all of them offer everything you want in a mobile companion and more. They may be small, but you’ll be surprised by all the fun features packed inside.

Dell Mini 10v Like most netbooks these days the 10v comes with the Intel Atom processor and the Windows XP operating system. It weighs in at 2.5 pounds with a 10.1 inch glossy LED display and a keyboard that is 92% the size of a regular laptop. It comes standard with 1GB of RAM and you have the option of a 160GB SATA harddrive or a 16GB Solid State. Prices for the Mini 10v can be as low as $299.

Dell Mini 10 This is the more deluxe cousin. They do share some commonalities such as the Atom processor, 1GB of Ram and Windows XP. The weight is basically the same with the Mini 10 weighing in at just one ounce heavier at 2.6 pounds. The screen size is the same 10.1 inches, however with the Mini 10 you ave the option of upgrading the resolution to HD. With the Mini 10 you have your choice between 250GB SATA harddrive or a 64 GB Solid State. The Mini 10 also offers GPS! Now that is a nice option. Prices for the Mini 10 start at $349

In the very recent past, graphic tees were not thought of as being a very stylish item…at least outside of the teenage world. My how times have changed however, now that brands from Armani to American Eagle have gotten into the game, fitted graphic t shirts are thought of as completely acceptable elements of fashionable clothing.
These days, vintage tees from the 80’s are sold for astronomical amounts (up to $13,000) and major fashion houses such as Armani and Ralph Lauren have began to produce graphic t-shirts with new techniques that make them fashionable and hip. New weaving techniques have made it possible to make very fine cotton, while distressed finishes allow for vintage looks to be enhanced – as seen in many American Eagle t-shirts.
What has really made graphic tees a hot item are the many 2.0 websites that have popped up, that feature very original designs, which was rare thing back in the day. Now that a t-shirt can be a work of art and not something mass-produced, its value rises and it becomes a cool t-shirt. These new arenas are giving way for more graphic t-shirt designers to show-off their talents. They are relying on the graphic design software that is readily available – also something absent a few years ago.
You might even make it past the velvet rope into the chic Manhattan nightclub you’ve been dying to visit while wearing one of these items, if that’s your bag. For me, I just need plenty of t shirts to get me through these hot and humid months.
Speaking of fitted, graphic tees…American Eagle has a really nice sale going on right now. Buy one at normal price and receive a second for 50% off. Now that’s just the sort of deal that really perks my interest. I combed the American Eagle t shirt selections and they have some really cool ones.

Eagle Icon T Soft cotton with a vintage fit. I like the graphic quite a bit on this one. This shirt runs for $19.50

AE Graphic V-Neck T A sexy v neck for the ladies. Burnout graphic and fabric for that distressed vintage look. $19.50

AE Eagle V-Neck T My third pick is also another selection for the girls. Floral flying eagle graphic. Deep v neck in soft cotton, with a long and lean fit. $15.50

My how times change. Back when I was in school, we ended for break in mid June and did not return until mid September. These days it’s pretty common for the term to resume some time in August.
Are you feeling the pinch to get your school supplies together? Either for yourself or for your children? August is practically upon us. Sears has geared up their school supplies sales and there are Sears coupons available currently in anticipation of this need. Buy more, save more on Sandford school supplies at Sears. Spend $20 and save $5, spend $35 and save $10. Some really good savings.
So what’s on the agenda? What do you need?
Texas Instruments TI-Nspire Graphing Calculator
Do you have a math class this upcoming term that’s causing you no small amount of anxiety? You will conquer this challenge much easier if you have the proper tools to handle the job. Built-in interactive “Grab-and-Move” interface lets students observe relationships and the impact of changes to related equations and data. Explore on one screen up to four representations of a single problem, including algebraic, graphical, geometric, numeric and written. Calculator application lets students enter and view expressions, equations and formulas exactly as they appear in math textbooks. Graph equations, expressions and other functions, then watch in real time how changes to variables impact data. Easily link to another TI-Nspire or a PC for file transfer.
A seriously neat little machine for $159.

Summer travels, a good chunk of my friends are gearing up for, just returning from, or in the middle of their own. I’m looking upon them with a bit of jealousy. I would like to go somewhere, but I can’t…this being “new baby summer”. Ah well, I do believe I have the more exciting adventure on my plate.
While observing everyone running hither and yon the past several weeks I’ve noticed that people seem really into roadtripping and bare bones travel this year. It seems to be a fairly prevalent phenomenon. Prevalent enough to acquire it’s own marketing term. “Flashpacking”. Traveling with more flash than cash. This little buzzword is on the lips of all the travel writers this summer.
The first question on many travelers’ lips may well be: What is flashpacking? Who are these mysterious flashpackers? Many flashpackers are actually just the growing number of ‘techno-travelers’ out there. They’ve got iPods and digital cameras. They’re traveling with their laptops. They want to blog and broadcast live video streams of their travel experiences, so they need free WiFi at their hostel.
While technology is a key element of flashpacking, though, it’s not the whole picture, by any means. A flashpacker is essentially just the usual backpacker or independent traveler, looking for something a bit more upmarket from their digs. They want all the flexibility of the independent traveler – the unfixed itinerary which allows you to think on your feet and go wherever the fancy takes you – yet they also want (just a little!) of the look and feel of a boutique hotel.
Yet they don’t want your standard budget hotel: rather, they’re after the advantages of a good, old-fashioned cheap hostel, with just a bit more, well, luxury. Even the most hardcore backpackers among us can do with a bit of luxury from time to time. It’s okay we won’t judge you for not wanting to spend a month eating bugs in the Outback. I’ll even help you out to find those nice but affordable digs…I’ve got some Orbitz coupons with your name on them right here.

I’ve been a big fan of Ben Sherman, their whole line of clothes and shoes, for a very long time. Ben Sherman has been setting trends for decades and there is quite a bit about their aesthetic that I really enjoy. The look is both clean and somewhat dressy, while at the same time terribly hip. I don’t know, maybe I have some hidden anglophile sensibilities residing within me.
Piperlime is currently holding a up to 50% off of select merchandise sale. These Ben Sherman Carburante sneakers are part of this special selection. Wow, these are really smart looking shoes: lace ups, chocolate brown leather and suede uppers with light blue accents. Now only $44.99, marked down form $90.00. If you ever keep your eyes peeled for Ben Serman goodies, then you will know that this is an amazing price, an an amazing opportunity.
Piperlime is a new shoe shop from the Gap line. We have some Piperlime Coupon Codes available to help you explore what these new kids on the block have to offer. Give them a shot! Looks like they have some great stuff!

I do quite a bit of shopping at the Gap. I’m being absolutely honest when I state that probably no other store provides more “bedrock” to my wardrobe. Really. For my casual, everyday wear its perfect. The clothes I buy there always look good and it seems the ladies in my life always compliment me when I’m wearing them. They always fit well, feel well made and are comfortable. All this and the Gap isn’t outrageously expensive. I ask you, what’s not to like?
There are times when I am at other stores, looking for clothing staples that I would normally buy from Gap, and I decided to purchase elsewhere because I perceive that I just found a really good deal. Often times I get the product home and I am disappointed with something. The feel, quality or fit. I find myself saying at these times “I should have just gone to the Gap”. I’m serious, I’m not making this up. This happened just last week when I purchased some underwear from a well know big box store.
These are the undershirts I know, love and should have purchased:

Ribbed Tank
I haven’t always been a fan of the ribbed tank undershirt, but in the past five years or so I have become an utter convert. In fact, these days if I’m caught without I feel rather incomplete (for lack of a better term). These are soft and always feel right, the others I bought last week felt…well rather cheap. The ribbed tanks from Gap come in black, grey and white. You get them in packs of two for $19.50.
On the topic of essentials, here is another: the t shirt. Same basic story. I always am very happy with the basic t’s I buy at the Gap. However when I purchase elsewhere I am often not. I need to learn my lesson.

Best Crewneck
On the website, in the product description they call these the “perfect T” and I daresay it might be true. I just love these things and no other t shirt in my closet seems to compare. They come in a whole multitude of colors, with some of the colors being heavily discounted. The price range currently spans from just $3.99 to $18.00. Though let me tell you, even at full retail price these shirts are more than worth it.
Yesterday I wrote about how picky I am about the jeans I wear. It’s true, I totally am. But do you know which jeans in my closet are my all time favorites? You guessed it, the ones I bought from the Gap.

Selvage Standard Fit (rigid denim wash) jeans
I love these jeans. These are made from Japanese raw denim that are designed to form to your body. They look and feel really good and I can’t give them high enough marks. Currently on sale for $69.00!
Are you feeling me internet-land? Find your Gap Coupons here, and never again finish your shopping venture feeling disappointed.

These days I almost wear jeans exclusively. Denim is great for comfort, but it’s also great for style. That being said, I am picky about what kind of jeans I wear. I am picky about the cut, the weave and the wash of the denim. Very, very picky you might say. A run of the mill pair that one might find at you standard big box store normally won’t cut it for me. It really is too easy to go from feeling like a fashionable “million bucks” to kind of frumpy. I know it may sound weird for a guy to admit this, but alas it is true. I am willing to spend more to make sure my look is tight.
Choosing the best look for your shape and style is easy. If you want a pair of straight-leg jeans but you’ve got muscular thighs, try the best of both worlds. If you’re slightly on the muscular or heavyweight side straight legged but in a slightly more relaxed fit is a good option. If you’re a slim but medium-height guy, then don’t go for extremes. You may be able to pull off a super-slim fit, but it won’t necessarily flatter. Go for an average slim cut, and leave the ankle-stranglers for the models.
A true variable with jeans is that the styles really do vary over the years. Sadly though, jeans often outlive those trends. Denim is tough by nature and if you don’t wear them everyday those pants can last for years and years. That doesn’t mean you should cart out those hot acid wash you bought twenty years ago, just because they are still in good shape however. Silhouettes and washes have changed quite a bit, and it behooves you to try and stay ahead of the game. Refresh, refresh, refresh. Don’t allow yourself to fall into a fashion time warp. This is a huge danger for all of us as we get older, keep your wits about you. In my humble opinion nothing shows a person’s age more than to jump headlong into this trap.
In recent years, the slimmer, straight leg jean has made a huge comeback. Some jeans available will have simple straight legs all the way down from the knee to ankle, while there will be more than a hint of the ‘80s with taper leg jeans, too. With regards to washes, I am very partial to the raw look in a dark shade. Not black, but a deep blue, sans the heavy whiskering of seasons passed.

Standard in Mercer The classic straight leg has a basic rise and is slim and parallel from the knee to the leg opening. Mercer is a stretch fabrication in a super dark un-faded denim with no whiskers, abrasion or distress. Available from 7 For All Mankind for $174

THAYE 0088Z Made in Italy. Unwashed denim with a slim fit. Available from Diesel and on sale for $112, down from $160. 30% off!

{Capital E} Hesher Straight Jeans - Soaked Part of Levis {Capital E} line of handcrafted jeans, the Hesher is the collection’s straight-fit. The mid-rise hits slightly higher in back. Sewn and finished in the USA of premium Italian denim and trimmed with hand-stitched back-pocket arcuates. $158.
Yes buying nice designer jeans is not cheap, but I feel it’s one of those things in life in which a person doesn’t come out ahead when they skimp. You can be wise about your purchases though. Check out the sales and our online coupons. We have some great 7 For All Mankind Coupons to help start you on your search. Happy Hunting!
