The make-up line E.L.F. ( Eyes, Lips, and Face) has been bought out by Nordstrom and will be re-packaging all their products with the Nordstrom name on it. They are getting rid of all the make-up in ELF packaging. They are selling everything for $1. YES ONE DOLLAR. You do have to pay shipping. However, even with that charge it’s cheaper than buying make-up anywhere else and it is fun to try things when you don’t have to worry about the cost! They have powder, mascara, brushes, nail polish, you name it. I just bought a ton of products for only $18.99 and that included shipping, I LOVE A SUPER BARGAIN, it makes me so giddy!
Just thought I’d pass along the good deal.
Also, if you use the coupon code: CAROLINA you will get $7.50 off your first $15 purchase.
If ONE DOLLAR makeup is still too much for you be sure to get more Elf Cosmetic coupons and special promotional codes by clicking here.

I’m confused!! This website has always had their products at a $1.00 price point. It’s not a big sale going on for $1.00 if they are regularly $1.00 all the time.

I placed an order last week. I have not heard or gotten any kind of confirmation email.
June 11th, 2008 at 7:15
I received the e mail about Nordstrum and purchased over $80 worth of products. My shipment just arrived today with half of those products not included. Other things that I do not want were included in the order. My credit card was charged for the full order even though items were missing. For example, I ordered the complete set of professional brushes and received an eyelash curler (which I already have) and one lip liner brush…that is it. It is true that the products are small. I would be ok with that had they shipped the correct products. I am currently waiting to see what customer service will do about this. And yes, the shipping time was a month. I would be very careful with this company.

I ordered $20 worth of products a month ago, and they just arrived today. And 4 of my 20 products were missing completely, and several others were duplicates of something I only ordered one of. That may be confusing - but simply put the fulfillment was awful. ***What I really worry about it all the cosmetics are made in China.***Didn’t they just have a big scare about Chinese cosmetics? Lead or something? I may throw it all away. On a positive note, the brush I ordered was nice.

I would like to buy makeup. At a cheap price.
June 14th, 2008 at 9:14
I placed my order on 05/23 and did not receive them until June 13. Products are very small…and not really worth $1. The custom looks are about the size of a quaerter… I do like their “Get the Look” kits…very helpful. I had to call Customer Service because some of my products were missing. They said I should get a credit on my account in a few business days.

I ordered products and they arrived in 3 weeks, which is what their web site stated. I got a lot of decent stuff for twenty bucks, and the carolina did get me $7 off of the first $15. Come on people your paying a $1 per item, what do you expect?
July 29th, 2008 at 18:21
You have got to be kidding me.The stuff costs 1.00.I love their product and I am a makeup artist that has worked for the most high end lines that are out.I mean the lip product is not that great, but the brushes.WOW, and for 1.00.I am impressed.I will buy again. If you want Chanel, then be reasy to shell out 40x the price and you will get the name and packaging that makes you all happy. If you want to just purchase some decent makeup, then elf is the place.

I was so excited to hear that a company selling their product for $1 was being bought by a valid company like Nordstrom’s… My thinking before I bought the product. The worst makeup I’ve come across. I eagerly placed my purchase THEN read reviews from consumers. Mistake I admit on my part. Although I received my product a month after purchase, there was a disclaimer explaining the backup. Finally received it and was disappointed to say the least with the makeup. It’s cheap in the fact it doesn’t wear long and irritated my eyes along with the scents of the actual makeup. I was infact satisfied with the nailpolish! You get what you pay for. And like the headliner I read, it is perfect for emergencies in your car.

Nordstrom is NOT buying E.L.F. This is a hoax.
September 26th, 2008 at 9:10
This is for sure a Hoax. Its been happening for a couple years now. Just go to your local dollar store.

I am so happy I saw this I was about to order a lot of make-up. After reading the response by so many. I think not! Thank you all.

This news is not true and just a rumor, e.l.f. is a real company and most of their makeup items are $1, and i am actually a big fan of their products, it’s very gentle and most of the stuff are actually really great to use, like the Lip glosses! Just read the reviews on their site and they have been spotted on many fashion magazines. Hope this helps

Makeup for $1????? Never would i buy $1 stuff to put on my face from these not so familiar brands….butttt Tools for a dollar???? now that’s awesome. i would deffinitely give it a try…probably wont beat the quality of a Channel Brush though but i would sure try it for a buck.

Elf products are almost always $1, and can be found at places like Kmart and Big Lots, and even some Targets. This “sale” isn’t a deal unless you live far away from one of these places and have to pay shipping, which the coupon code helps with the bottom line cost. The sizes are normal size items. I do have to say that the selection is better on-line on their website than what I have found in the stores, but there is no connection with Nordstrom. Just an FYI.
November 5th, 2008 at 12:47
Elf makeup isnt bad, and its always a dollar. And if youre going to say CHANEL like you use it, make sure you spell it right. Get off your fucking high horse bitch.
November 5th, 2008 at 19:36
WTF!! My boss and I just ordered a crap load of make up from them today.
I bought like 40 bucks worth of stuff! I am scared now that my card has been charged, I hope they ship my things for real! I am so pissed off now. I understand $1.00 is cheap and it should be cheap make up for the price but i knew it was cheap that is why i purchased it but damn i just want my stuff, I dont really care about the quality. I mostly ordered the tools anyway.
November 6th, 2008 at 12:17
It is not from Nordstrom, you can find this in Kmart, wallmart, Jack 99cent store, Mandees, I have not used it yet, but I was trying to look for reviews before I purchase some.
November 9th, 2008 at 12:50
it’s just a $1. stop complaining.
November 20th, 2008 at 8:53
its a great offer!
November 22nd, 2008 at 8:33
ELF is fabulous!!! Worth way more than $1 but not ‘Nordstroms’ just snopes it that has been circulating for years using various department store names. Buy ELF it is a great product. Usually receive it within 1 week or so of ordering. I used many products and love them all especially their ‘minerals’ way better than ‘bare essentials’ ENJOY!!
November 27th, 2008 at 19:21
i fell for the hoax & placed the order since I am not familiar w/ da brand ( never knew it was sold @ those stores) but due to some internal error, my order wasn’t processed. THANK GOD!!!
November 30th, 2008 at 20:25
I fell for the hoax because I’m always looking for bargains. Once I realized I had been deceived, I called ELF’s customer service to try and cancel the order. They have a prerecorded message that says “Due to a high volume of calls, we may be unable to take your call for 24-48 hours.” This is really a joke. If my card gets charged, I’m disputing the charges and will never do business with ELF which should stand for “Eager Lying Freaks”!!!

I purchase from them all the time and the products are ok.. I dont have problems with shipping or getting products that I ordered. When they dont have something they dont charge me for it. Dont get me wrong I love my MAC but this stuff is okay too !
March 6th, 2009 at 12:20
if i order and get something i did not order or dont get an email i will see to it by the bank that the replaces my money and i will send the merchandize back. cause i would be an unsatified customer.i will not pay for something i did not order. and i always copy my cart list and take all precautions when shopping on line.

My sister called and told me that this is a brand by nordstroms. that its a brand like clinique and that this brand is changing their name and so they were selling all their makeup for a dollar! so i ordered a tona crap, THINKING, that it was a good deal! So it came in the mail and it is all worthless. The only thing that i might use is the brushes. I ordered pretty much everything; blush, lip gloss, lip liner, foundation… etc.. This product is like if i were to go and buy it at the dollar store. GO FIGURE ONLY A DOLLA! DON”T WAIST UR TIME. if you ordered cancel!
May 4th, 2009 at 17:12
I bought some stuff on the 24th of april and it arrived today (may 5th). I only ordered stuff like brushes, eye shadow applicators, etc. No foundation or lipstick. For what I paid for the brushes and other make-up tools, I think it’s worth it. I normally use precriptives brand and I can tell you that those applicators and brushes are way too costly. Oh yeah, and all the items I ordered were inside my box.
June 9th, 2009 at 9:27
I have just ordered some of this product. It only took a week and a half to get my stuff. I had a big order and everything came with no problems. The brushes are great. I have some designer brushes and these are on the same level as those. I haven’t tried everything yet but so far I love everything that I have tried. I got both the stick foundation and the mineral foundation. Both have been great. The eye shadow is very nice and I haven’t had any problems with it lasting all day. The liner hasn’t ran at all even when sweating in the Texas heat. Use the coupons and you get make-up almost free!
June 24th, 2009 at 13:35
Yes, the Nordstrom story is a hoax, but my cosmetics arrived on time and their studio line is not bad at all. My daughter and I are actually happy with the brushes, eye makeup, nail polish and blushes. I don’t know if I would try their foundations but everything else seems pretty good! You won’t regret spending a dollar.

NORDSTROM’S WEB SITE AND SNOPES BOTH CLAIM THERE IS NO RELATIONSHIP TO ELF.
NO RELATIONSHIP WITH NORDSTROM HAS EVER EXISTED NOR IS ONE PLANNED.
I PLAN TO TEST MY ORDER FOR TOXINS; WILL GET BACK TO YOU.
July 9th, 2009 at 13:01
elf customer service used to be HORRIBLE
where it takes forever to receive orders with items missing
but now their customer service is AMAZINGGG
i got my items (over 100 items) within 2 days after orderingggg
i will be ordering from there alot more frequently now :]
August 18th, 2009 at 21:21
i love elf!!! i think that it is not connected to nordstrom though because i always get emails from them comparing elf and other brands like mac and nordstrom. it is true that some of the stuff is small. probably because it is good quality and it’s cheap. if you want something bigger, you can try elf’s studio line make up. it’s more money but it’s still cheap
