Discount Camping Gear from REI

I’m 22, and I’ve never been camping in my backyard. I’ve camped in national parks, on the beach, in three different states, and in three different countries, but I’ve never fulfilled my childhood dream of pitching a tent in my backyard and sleeping out there. It’s a little ridiculous, and a fact that I share with few people. If I told my friends, they’d probably think I’m crazy.

I convinced my boyfriend to join me in a backyard camping adventure. He thought it was a little weird, but he’s always up for something out-of-the-box. Both of us just started new jobs, and neither of us have time to travel, so the backyard will have to do. Maybe camping in the backyard will be super un-fun. If it is, I’ll just go inside. Maybe the opposite will happen, and I’ll enjoy it so much that I’ll just start sleeping outside.

I was a Girl Scout until I was seventeen years old. I’ve gone spelunking in caves, and I’ve sailed a tall ship. I’ve built houses in Mississippi, and I’ve camped at the San Francisco Zoo. No matter what I was doing, I always shopped at my neighborhood REI. Back then, I didn’t have a credit card, and online shopping hadn’t caught on. Luckily, buying camping gear is much easier with coupons and discounts for REI.
